My Forecast Summary
Rain will continue to increase in coverage and pick up in intensity through the mid afternoon Sunday.
Rain, heavy at times, is expected later today through tonight.
Around 1-2″ of rain is expected by Monday morning, resulting in some minor poor drainage flooding and ponding on many roads for Monday morning’s commute.
In addition to the rain, strong gusty winds are expected across the city (and particularly along the immediate coast) this evening.
As slightly colder air begins to build across the city Monday morning, the rain will probably mix with some wet snowflakes (especially from Northern Manhattan, the North Shore of LI and the Bronx) by 7-8AM Monday morning.
The rain, or mixed wet snow and rain, will end shortly before lunchtime (by around 11AM or so).
No snow nor ice impacts are expected across NYC or Long Island on Monday.
