WIDESPREAD RAIN AND LATER GUSTY WINDS
Â
A soaking rain develops this morning, as a potent storm system moves east. Expect periods of moderate to even heavy rain all day into the evening. Winds will become an issue towards evening with gusts to 30 mph!! Be sure to secure outdoor items. A rumble of thunder can’t be ruled out either. Temperatures max out in the mid to upper 50s midday then fall during the late afternoon. Winds out of the south shift to the west then too. They become breezy with gusts between 25 to 30 mph. They continue to strengthen overnight into Monday with the strongest wind gusts during the afternoon.Â
Â
Overnight, the colder air comes screaming into the area changing any left over moisture to snow. The question is how much moisture is left when the colder air arrives. Right now, a coating to 2″ of snow mainly on grassy surfaces is possible. Road temperatures remain above freezing and will be wet.  Overpasses may be slippery so be mindful of that when traveling.Â
It’s a blustery, brisk Monday with partly sunny skies. Temperatures are much chillier in the low 40s but feeling like the 20s and 30s with the winds.Â
Â
Much cooler, more seasonable air returns next week!
Make it a great day!
MaryEllen, when will we be seeing the eclipse here in Lancaster county?
It begins October 14th around 1:10PM and ends at 2:36PM. We’ll be dealing cloudy skies and rain much of the day, so viewing conditions will be poor.
Thanks. It’s a shame that the weather won’t cooperate.
Thanks for sharing this new platform you’re on. Looking forward to utilizing it!
