1) That same Sonoran heat ridge will continue to impact the south central U.S. (yes, Texas….) through the middle of the month.
2) Severe thunderstorm threats will be on the increase roughly along and to the right of the Missouri Valley, especially next weekend and beyond.
3) The longer term models are beginning to show a more classic “El Nino” episode with a southern branch jet stream forming in the third and fourth weeks of September. That might mean the demise of the dreaded Texas heat ridge.
