Monday Forecast- A bit snowy for some

Forecast Discussion

A weak area of low pressure brings the chance of a few light snow showers mainly after midnight into Monday morning, especially over Long Island, Westchester, and S CT.

After these clear the area, a high pressure returns behind the low, bringing dry weather with diminishing cloud cover for Monday afternoon.

We then watch an interesting storm for Tuesday which could bring coastal areas their first “moderate” snowfall of the season.

Daily Planner

Monday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. West wind 8 to 16 mph.

Monday Night
Chance of a few flurries and / or snow showers, with a low around 28. West wind 5 to 11 mph.

Snowfall- Future Radar

This sneaky system will approach the area overnight tonight and into Mmonoday morning.  As I mention, those in Rockland, Westchester, NYC, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, CT, and all of LI including portions of Northern Coastal NJ will see some festive flakes.  Maybe a coating to even a couple of inches where the snowfall is steadiest and heaviest.  More of a nuisance than anything else.

Tuesday we have a system that bears watching and has more TEETH.  Here is a POSSIBLE scenario for this system

I will have more of an update on the Tuesday system tomorrow evening
